Removing your make-up and cleansing your skin before going to bed is crucial. If you want to achieve a beautiful make-up or natural look, you have to begin with a clean base: your skin! It’s super important to give your skin the care and love it deserves. We all know the basics that assure a better skin quality: drinking enough water, eating enough vitamins and being careful with sun exposure. However, nothing can beat a good skin care routine!
The ’10 step Korean skin care routine’ has been around for a while. This skin care routine is extremely popular and used by women in Seoul. But don’t be fooled, it’s not as if these women go through 10 steps a day to clean their skin. This Korean skin care routine focuses on the different product variants that can be used depending on your own skin type. The focus lays on using your skin care products in the right order. Therefore, you’re free to choose how many steps of the ritual you want to follow, as long as it’s in the right order.
Our CÎME team was very intrigued by the different steps and decided to give this Korean skin care routine a little CÎME twist!
CÎME meets Korea
STEP 1: Oil cleanser
What? A cleansing oil penetrates deep into the pores to thoroughly remove oil-based debris such as make-up, sunscreen and impurities. Recette de Pureté is suitable for face and eyes and removes all make-up, including waterproof.
How? Apply Recette de Pureté to dry skin, then wet the fingertips with water and rub the cleansing oil until it becomes a milky texture. Then wash the whole face with lukewarm water. Repeat this every morning and evening.
STEP 2: Foam cleanser
What? A foam cleanser removes water-based impurities such as sweat and dirt. It’s the ideal double cleanse, after removing make-up.
How? We don’t offer a foam cleanser. On the other hand you can already do a very deep and double cleanse by first using Recette de Pureté and then tonifying the skin with Rosée de Roses.
STEP 3: Exfoliator
What? A peeling or scrub not only cleans clogged pores, but also removes dead skin cells. It clears up the skin and adds some glow.
How? ½ spoon sugar mix together with ½ spoon Recette de Pureté. Then apply to your whole face and gently massage. Clean with lukewarm water. Not recommended for daily use, maximum 1 to 2 times per week.
STEP 4: Toner
What? When we think our skin is completely clean and all make-up has been removed ... well, 99% of the time we’re wrong. A toner ensures that the last make-up leftovers disappear. It not only cleanses the skin deeper, it also deals with the drying effect of tap water. In addition, it also restores the natural pH levels of the skin.
How? Tonify with Rosée de Roses (3 in 1 micellar cleansing lotion) by spraying the product on a cotton pad and then applying it on the face. It provides a soft, clean, soothed and toned skin that is prepared to be nourished and hydrated! Repeat this every morning and evening.
STEP 5: Essence
What? An essence prepares the skin to fully absorb skin care products. In this way, all skin care products (e.g. day cream) are used optimally.
How? We don’t have an essence in our range. It actually looks like a toner… Different from a toner, it contains other ingredients and is preferably applied with fingertips.
STEP 6: Serum
What? A serum gives your skin an extra boost. Serums are especially known for their hydrating and nourishing properties. But it can also give your skin more vitality, resistance and / or shine.
How? Apply a small drop of Kissed by a Rose where necessary (e.g. around the eye contours). You don’t have to use much of the serum, because it’s so rich in exceptional essential acids. Repeat as often as desired. It is especially recommended for people who suffer from pigmentation spots, rosacea, fine lines and / or wrinkles.
STEP 7: Mask
What? A mask can be the answer to different skin requirements. For example, there are moisturizing masks, purifying masks, peel-off masks, and so on. The main goal is to give your skin the necessary extra boost.
How? Cover a cotton cloth / mask in neutral water and Rosée de Roses. Let the cloth rest on the face for 10 to 15 minutes so that the micellar lotion can penetrate into the skin. This provides a refreshing and moisturizing effect. Use this mask twice a week. Click here to read more about it.

STEP 8: Eye cream
What? An eye cream hydrates and prevents dark circles, puffiness and crow’s feet.
How? At CÎME we recommend to use our Kissed by a Rose serum for the contours of your eyes. This serum is well known for restoring skin elasticity. Therefore it will help reduce and prevent fine lines and wrinkles.
STEP 9: Face cream
What? A day cream provides daily hydration and protection. It does not matter which skin type you have, both dry and oily skin benefits from a day cream.
How? Our day creams are suitable for both day and night. It’s important to choose a day cream that suits your skin type.
STEP 10: SPF
What? SPF stands for 'Sun Protection Factor'. It’s very important to protect your skin against the sun, because it’s the main reason for premature skin aging. For example, you can buy a sunscreen to protect your skin against UVA and UVB rays every day. But because this often causes white stripes or oily skin, we recommend buying a day cream with SPF.
How? There’s a natural UV protection factor in all of our day & night creams. This natural sun protection is based on antioxidants (including Edelweiss extract, which has been scientifically proven to protect against UV rays).
