All orders placed until Sunday will be entirely donated to the Earthquake Relief program of Nepal Trust, our partner organization in Nepal.
On the 25th of April, a devastating earthquake hit Nepal. As you know, we work together with local farmers in Nepal. In cooperation with our partner organizations in Nepal, we have embarked on the sustainable collection and organic cultivation of herbs used in the CÎME products. In addition, we also support the "Little Doctors" schooling project, active in the region of Humla, in the north of the country. This project is an initiative of Nepal Trust, the organization who also took the initiative for the Earthquake Relief program.
The earthquake is the largest to hit Nepal since 1934 and has caused significant destruction and a high number of victims. The epicenter of the earthquake was located around 80 kilometers from the capital of Nepal, Kathmandu. Accessibility to remote areas surrounding Kathmandu is a major challenge, hampering search and rescue and relief efforts. Electricity and telephone connectivity is intermittent and mobile services are experiencing heavy congestion. Hospitals continue to function but are stretched to the limits.
Nepal Trust has launched the Earthquake Relief program in the district of Sindalpulchowk, north of Kathmandu. This region was hit the most by the earthquake, but didn’t receive government support yet. That’s why Nepal Trust began a project to help this region. Initially Nepal Trust will work with medical volunteers from the Nidan Hospital in Lalitpur to provide medicines and emergency first aid. They will supply the logistical support and purchase the medicines and other supplies that have to be replaced to the hospital. Nepal Trust will purchase and distribute tents, food, clean water and filters to ensure people are fed and kept warm particularly during the rainy season and the winter.
Until Sunday the proceeds of the CÎME webshop will go entirely to this project of Nepal Trust. So support Nepal and order your products now on our webshop.
